Aku masih lagi tak dapat rhythm untuk life aku sejak kebelangan ini. Jadi boss bahagian yang paling banyak staff,  thesis yang masih lagi tunggang langgang membuatkan aku kadang-kala stress hingga tahap extreme. Apatah lagi dengan kerja-kerja ad hoc macam recreate balik senarai tugas, KPI dan benda-benda mengarut dan menambahkan red tape yang timbul.

Bila lah thesis aku ni dapat habis? kena cari desperate measure and action. Kalau tak maut aku tahun ni.

The nature of librarians you should know.

Librarians are busy busy people. They spend almost of their time looking after other people, usually in the confines of their own spaces, whether they are called libraries, learning resources centre or something similar to that. They have to do many aspects of the job includings managing the libraries from the stock, budget, library environments, the stupid stakeholders and also managing noise (includes the buzzing from stakeholders).

On top of that, they also have to support the students, teach them how to use the library and the resources provided for them, dealing with their enquiries and manage their special needs (for special students only). The most that make the librarians grow older everyday is supporting the academic staffs. Starting with the liasing the academics, library commitees till encouraging the academics to use resource-based learning effectively.

But still, in my environment, the librarians is underestimated by those we called the stakeholders! After all we do have one priority to uphold, entertaining the dummies...he..he..he.

Eating and Idea Spray Session

Kali ini kami dapat berhimpun semula, part 04 of IS 772 student. Namun sedikit kekecewaan, kami tak cukup korum. Hanya kami sahaja yang menyertai sesi kali ini - Rina, Hasnah, Zali, Ita, SJ, Suhana dan aku.
It's ok. Yang hadir kali ini pun berupaya memberikan idea dan pandangan masing-masing. Masing-masing orang yang hebat.
Sesi dimulakan dengan makan-makan with everyone bring the plate. Salah satu sesi yang aku rasa amat penting untuk memastikan minda dapat bercambah untuk melontar idea bagi sesi forum MLS yang akan diadakan this coming Saturday.
Even though aku tak dapat hadir disebabkan konvokesyen anak aku, aku perlu bagi input jugak. Sedih jugak tak dapat hadir. Walaupun spokeperson telah dilantik, namun yang lain-lain pun boleh bagi input yang bernas.

Apa yang dirancang, lain pulak yang jadi. Sesi idea spray hanya berlangsung 30 min jer...dengan yang lain-lain dah rasa tak sedap duduk sebab nak balik. Ini semua sebab sesi bual bicara dengan coordinator program yang bawak citer-citer yang hangat dalam dunia kerja aku....bayangkan kami mula session jam 8.00 pm, tapi brainstorming session untuk forum mula jam 10.00 pm.

Assignment Tertunggak

Alhamdulillah, feeling relieved. And perhaps I can put smile on my face. Just finished couple of assignment that I owed my lecturer. Suppose there was only one report that I have to finish. But unfortunately, my partner left the presentation sheet in the classroom and made me to construct another presentation kit. I hate this kind of attitude, I hate to did the same thing twice and I hate to do others people job.

Hard work paid off!

Setelah dua minggu aku bermati-matian menyiapkan Research Proposal, akhirnya ianya telah siap di pinda dan diubah mengikut kehendak lecturer aku. Penat buat benda ni. Sampai nak muntah buat amendments.

Bila buat proofread nampak bahagian ni tak kena, lepas tu bahagian yang itu tak kena.

Naik pening. Topic aku? User perception and expectations. Topic yang dipilih oleh lecturer aku. Before this, topic yang aku nak cater ialah information literacy. But, lecturer aku kata aku punya nampak macam user perception, jadi disarankan aku buat topic tu.

By today aku akan hantar, by hook or by crooked.

Saturday Night Sleeper

15hb Disember 2007 adalah family day untuk organization aku. Dan aku yang pada mulanya dah mendaftar diri nak pergi menarik diri di saat-saat suku akhir. AJK penganjur tertanya-tanya kenapa aku tak pergi? Jawapan aku mudah, ringkas dan padat. Tempat tu tak best dan tidak memenuhi kriteria untuk aku dan keluarga aku berseronok. Jawapan aku lebih bersifat peribadi dan tidak mempengaruhi sesiapa. Bukan niat aku pun nak mempengaruhi sesiapa. Dan sesiapa yang terpengaruh dengan cakap aku tanpa selidik terlebih dahulu, memang cerdik sangat lah tu. Namun statement aku disalah ertikan oleh pengerusi kelab kakitangan my organization. Dia marah aku sebab bagi alasan macam tu. Bengong ape. (that's why only few female homo-sapien can become a good leader, because they also mix everything with their emotion that can kill professionalism). Hopefully, you guys enjoying yourself. Semoga ramalan cuaca yang mengatakan hujan di beberapa tempat di Perak tidak mengganggu keseronokan yang tidak terhingga. Sesiapa yang ada niat nak cuci mata kat situ, bolehlah cuci sampai putih mata tu.

Mujur juga aku tak pergi family day, coordinator program masters aku dah decide untuk berjumpa dengan kami semua pada jam 4.00 petang di kampus. Setelah masing-masing menunggu hampir 1 jam lebih, perjumpaan dimulakan pada jam 5.20 petang dan berakhir pada pukul 7.10 malam. Tak sangka pulak kami ini dah ade 2 team sekarang: Team 6 & Team 5. The both team carried different direction because of the last semester result. On the Team 5, there are people who have to repeat the last semester paper or papers. And some of them only have to redo their research proposal. The Team 6 will carry on with the upcoming semester's subject and will have to choose whether to take dissertation or independence study for the final semester. At first, there only me and my partner in drive chose to take dissertations, but its end up with the additional of 3 people, only left to think about is SJ. Make up your mind, girl.
We do manage to have only 3 subjects on this semester rather than 4. Another 1 will be taken on semester 4. Hopefully, all of us can graduate at the same time.

Selesai saja perjumpaan aku terus jer nak balik, namun aku fikir baik solat maghrib dulu kat kampus sebelum balik. Tiba aku kat rumah jam 8.15 malam. Setelah bercerita sikit apa yang berlaku kat my lady, aku pun masuk tidur dengan harapan pukul 10 nak bangun. Memang terasa penat betul. Sebab aku baru saja recover dari fever. Tapi apa yang terjadi, pagi ni baru bangun. Dan hari ni family aku akan ke Nilai 3.

Reality Bytes: great to live??

Dah 2 hari, diri aku dilanda demam. Hari pertama yang worst. Panas betul badan. Sampai tak lena tidur. Pada hari pertama demam iaitu semalam, aku gagahkan diri untuk hadir ke mesyuarat penting untuk defend bajet jam 2.30 petang. Mulanya bagi second in command aku pergi ke meeting bajet setelah PA bos aku called. Namun hati aku berat mengatakan aku patut pergi, sebab khuatir collegue aku tu tak tau apa-apa dan dah sure tak mau pergi.

Walaupun badan lemah, pergikan juga. Kepala bengong, tuhan saja yang tahu. Anyway, result exam aku come out memeranjatkan aku dan aku adalah salah seorang yang lulus. Alhamdulillah, ingatkan repeat dah sem depan bagi certain subject such as MLS 742 dan MLS 752. Tapi ada beberapa orang kawan aku yang tak bernasib baik. Semoga tuhan merahmati korang.

Dan semalam, suhu badan dah berkurangan panasnya. Tapi tonsil aku bertambah bengkak dan memeritkan tekak. Maybe nak pekena air asam jawa kot?

Ape punya title...nampak macam lagu black metal aje. Darkthrone betul. Dal lama aku tak sentuh blog ni. Terlalu sibuk. Sampai lecturer aku suruh aku berhenti dari kursus master. Bodoh betul...ape punye attitude. Kesibukan aku bekerja bukannya mengganggu kelas. Bukan permenantly. Ingat ini kelas budak degree ke.

Esok aku ke Pikom PC Fair. Nanti kalau kena gayanye aku cite dalam blog. Sekarang tak clear. Banyak benda kena buat untuk sambutan benda setengah hari.

Birokrasi VS Bureaucracy

Yesterday, i've been treated like a kid who took first time degree. Semalam juga aku terpaksa menahan kencing sebab nak menunggu taklimat diaorang. SEmalamlah aku bazirkan masa 6 jam aku semata-semata kerana RM 6,477.00.

Punyalah teruk. Aku yang jadi government servant selama 6 tahun masih lagi dilayan seperti budak-budak. Tanpa memperdulikan penerangan yang aku terangkan balik pada petugas kaunter ptptn mengenai status dokumen sokongan aku yang tak sama dengan budak-budak lain.

Bertekak sungguh aku termasuk bertekak dengan penyelia diaorang yang aku rasa gred 41 jugak. Masakan aku yang bekerja dan pinjaman ini yang akan dipotong melalui gaji aku monthly perlukan dokumen sokongan penjamin. Ade logik tak kat situ.

Sepatutnya sebagai badan yang menyediakan perkhidmatan seperti diaorang ni perlu buat post-mortem ke atas kaedah yang dibuat. Memang bagus sekarang ni diaorang dah provide e-loan tapi biarlah apa yang dikluarkan dari portal diaorang synchronize dengan apa yang sepatutnya petugas diaorang. Malah aku kesian dengan diaorang yang dah menunggu dari pukul 7 pagi, siap bawak baby lagi, ade yang tak attend kelas semata-mata untuk menyerahkan borang. Petugas PTPTN pulak pukul 11 pagi baru tiba.

The Crew Behind: Seminar on Librarianship

Last April, my classmates and me had conducted a free seminar exclusively for the librarian in academic and public library. We invited almost 160 libraries in Klang Valley and we end up having 60 participants not included lectures from the faculties (some of them are my ex-classmates ). It's a nice seminar actually, with the theme Library as knowledge hub: future and trends. The presentor are coming from various background talking about the information seeking-behaviour and how information is retrieved. We have from UPSI, UiTM and also from Frontline Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd whom the presentor gave talk upon tremendous topics on content management.



At first, there were diffulties in selecting the presentor. When I proposed the presentor from corporate bodies, one of the lectures, seem "dislike" with the ideas. But we prove sometimes a remix or combination is good for sake of human kind. He..he.

Cooling Period

Today is Thursday. But when I'm writing this, its already Friday. And I don't have any class. My lecturer has postponed the class to next week on wicked Monday. On Monday we going to have the horrible thing that we called the meeting. It is like all officers gather around to hear our big boss mumbling and story telling and also tis meeting will last for one day. Can you guys imagine...one whole day. Craps...my junior already know that I will suffocate and die in this meeting. But life goes on.

The informist is in cooling period. I'm in good mood even though I'm in the bad shape. My class will conducting a seminar next week. My big boss will be shocked to see me handling the seminar that she will be attend. Ha..ha..ha. And I'm already taking a time off to prepare this seminar. Well, I'm login off. Need to browse for Puspakom location. I'm refinancing my Terios.

Still Got The Blues

It's almost 2.00 am. Haven't feelin' sleepy yet. Have to move on. Finished my class a little bit early today. we have a presentation on subject evaluation of search engine. My group has done it last weeks and tonight the lecturer gave her commented on the presentation conducted by the previous groups. I think I got the bad comment for not being able to talk or facing the audience. I'll try to face but maybe the monitor is too big, so it seems that I was talking to the monitor.

Nothing much to talk about except feeling down. The meeting of horror will coming this friday and will last long for 1 day. I don't know how my big boss can bare to talk or we should describe as a storyteller that never conclude the story.

I don't know for you guys out there...been able to attend that kind of meeting. For me, I still got some strengh...

HeadBlow

Well...sleep isn't the answer. After attended the meeting, i feel something scarier. My head blow. And sadly I have to say that i'm absent from my class...MLS 741. This going get worst sometimes. That's life...and for that cause, sometimes, I think it's better to use Malay. It's about variety and life is full of it.

Baru saja abis buat assignment. Lepas ni ada proposal yang perlu diselesaikan. Rasanya makin blow kepala ni. Kopi dah dua mug, tongkat ali dah setin aku telan. Fatigue still ada lagi. Lastly aku rasa, kena post something kat sini. baru rasa lega, ye ke? Aku pun tak boleh bagi jawapan...
