After craze for StreetLight Manifesto, I fell for this group called Wali Band. I've been mocked by my wife because of this. It was known that I dislike Indon band and sometimes changed the radio channel in my Terios if they played an Indon originated song. Honestly, for me they played a nice tune and their music in minor chord which is not many Malaysian band played in minor chord. They had their own sound and authentique. Two of their radio-friendly song were a big hit in Malaysia such as 'Cari Jodoh' and 'Yank'.

Wali Band is a music group originated from Kapuk Cengkareng, West Jakarta, Indonesia. This band was founded in 2008 and the line-up are: Faank (vocal), Apoy (guitar), Tomie (drum), Ovit (keyboard) and Nunu (bass).
All of them were graduated from pesantren (sekolah pondok in malay) and Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta alumni. The genre they brought, of course a mainstream, pop and little bit malay elements in their song.
